> I'm sure enjoying
the bicycle you built for me, have been putting on about 2,000 miles a year. It is
such a comfortable ride. It's about the best investment I have ever made. I am often
asked about the handlebars. They were a great choice as my hands and arms fall into
a natural position.
> I wanted to give
you an update on my Cherry Bomb that I picked up just over a month ago. I've rode
just over 1,000 miles, have done a century ride and the Hilly Hundred in Bloomington,
IN. The bike is working flawlessly! As I mentioned before I've had some really high-end
bikes over the years, Ti and Carbon but have never been fully satisfied. It's amazing
that you can dial in a steel bike to ride like Ti and handle like a true euro bike,
your steel fork has out performed anything I've had for comfort and response, carbon
or steel. Hands down this is the best bike I've ever had! The time you spent with
me measuring me for the bike goes a long way, because the fit is PERFECT! Cherry
Bicycles are the BEST, and I mean it!
> I participated in
Cycle Washington (tour beginning near Seattle and taking a loop through the Cascades)
in July. The Cherry Cordial you built for me performed wonderfully, it climbs VERY
well. It fits me so well. I had a local mechanic that I've used before pull the bottom
bracket after I returned (we rode through a lot of rain) and he had nothing but praise
for the finish of the internal lugwork - he assured me that this bike would likely
outlast me.
> I have never experienced
such performance in all my years of biking. I'm sure I do not possess the vocabulary
to describe the ride. It was worth the wait. Have a 50 mile ride planned for Saturday,
can't wait!
> While having dinner,
a man (artist) spent an hour looking, feeling, tinkering with my bike ñ his
comment, awesome! Later stopped at a bike shop for a pump strap, when I rolled my
bike in, the manager yelled out ñ she's got a Cherry. I'm not accustomed to
so much attention. Guess I'll have to get used to it.
> I just had to say
(again) I really love this bike; it fits my riding style perfectly with nimble and
precise steering. It's by far the best tracking bike I've ever ridden.
> The day I picked
up my bike I hopped right on, went on a 30 mile ride, and never needed a single adjustment.
I can't even buy clothes like that. My favorite way to answer people who ask how
I like my bike is this: 'My car sits out in the weather, but Magi (my bike) stays
in my bedroom.
> After deciding to
commit to purchase a custom built frame and after John had spent nearly 2 hours fitting
me, I remember asking John are you sure it will fit? John said "trust me, it
will fit". And did it fit! The bike is responsive and provides the comfort which
a rider expects on long rides. Details and the creator's personality and pride are
built into the frame.
> I rode an Italian
made Fazzin frame for four years. Then decided to purchase a new frame and set it
up solely-as a time trial bike. l was impressed at the amount of time John spent
measuring and fitting me before building the frame. He built the bike to fit me for
my intended purpose, instead of adjusting the bike with stems and seatposts. I have
been so pleased with my Cherry bike that when my Fazzin was severely damaged in an
accident, I went back for my second Cherry.
> You absolutely nailed
the geometry. It fits to perfection! The workmanship is without fault. It's a beautiful
machine and now resides in my bedroom (much to my wife's chagrin) when not in use.
One of the unexpected benefits of having a Cherry bike, is the crowd it attracts
wherever I go. In short, it is everything I could possibly want in a bike and has
filled a special place in my heart.
> I just wanted to
let you know how much I appreciate the work you put into my frame. This is the first
frame I've ever owned that has actually fit me. The difference that I feel between
my previous bike and the Cherry when I'm riding in tight single track is amazing.
My riding has already improved greatly and I'm excited to start racing in April.
> I love the straight
fork design on my new road bike. It is stiff in the sprints and hard efforts, yet
does not pound me to death on the long rides. Tight cornering is no problem. The
hills aren't a problem either as light as the bike is. My track bike still rides
great. It handles the same for me at 20 mph as it does in a sprint at 40 mph. The
quick handling gives me the control and feel I need to do well in track racing. I
enjoy my two Cherry's to the fullest.
> Your attention to
detail in measuring me and building the bike accordingly certainly paid off. Everything
about the bike is of highest quality and craftsmanship. Many of my fellow riders
have expressed their admiration of the bike and the local bike shop staff admires
your work every time I stop. The many hours of pleasure the bike has given me makes
the purchase and wait all worthwhile.
> My Cherry is my
workhorse. Originally I was only going to race on it. However my Cherry is so comfortable
I train and race both on the Cherry. The straight fork gives me quick handling but
the steel absorbs the road shock. The bike is a good climber as well. It is light
for a steel bike and stiff enough not to flex much in a climb. I am still impressed
with the workmanship. Another cool thing about having the Cherry out here in Colorado
is the attention the bike gets ñ I enjoy having a unique bike and look forward
to purchasing a Cherry Titanium soon.
> The race season
is in full swing and going great. The bike handles like a dream, climbs like a banshee,
descends like a rocket, and chews up single-track like a cheetah. Can you tell 'I
love riding this bike? I could keep talking about this bike all day.
> My Cherry bike fits
perfectly. I feel like I can stretch-out, but it handles like a bike that would be
much smaller. The bike is very light for steel, stiff enough to sprint better than
I can, handles superbly in criteriums, and comfortable enough for a long road race
or time trial.
> From the moment
that I threw my leg over the bike for the first time I knew that I was on something
special. Not being a big person (130 Ibs), I have never had a problem with bottom
bracket flex or the dreaded downhill shimmy, but I never knew what it was like to
really rocket down a hill or hammer away from a comer until my first serious outing
on my Cherry. Lets all hope for a speedy winter and early spring, because Cherry's
are too sweet to let set in the basement for too long.
> The bike has performed
as well as I could ever have hoped, and then some. In view of my somewhat unusual
proportions, and your custom sizing, it is the most comfortable bike I have ever
ridden, and it feels like it is probably the most efficient in terms of my distance
covered, for energy expended. I don't see anything that I would have you change if
you were building me another one.
> Last night I won
my first mountain bike race for the season! The bike rode like a dream. Everybody
at the race drooled over it, then watched me roll through the finish line 3 minutes
ahead of the field. I was pretty excited.
> The bike is terrific
!!! I have never experienced this kind of ride before. With this bike I can ride
at least two gears lower. I think it is a combination of weight, geometry, and superior
welds and design. I was amazed at the stiffness of the bike. It feels good climbing,
standing, sprinting or just sitting. On the flats it can't be beat. I can drop down
in 13 and cruise away. It's also very stable descending. I took the bike and did
some touring in the mountains between skiing. It is a blast to ride up to mountain
passes where snow is still 1-2 meters deep on either side of the road. I have some
pictures I'll send to you.
